If it is not right do not do it; if it is not true do not say it.– Marcus
Dear fellow Aurelians:
We sincerely hope that all of you affected by the last two weeks of hurricanes have come through safely. And for your families and communities affected, we offer our support.
Our constitution states: “The object of this Society shall be to encourage and promote high moral character, honorable conduct and the molding of one’s career to a life of service to the community . . .”
In that spirit, today, your society made a $500 donation to The Red Cross Milton-Helene Disaster relief fund acknowledged as follows:
“The American Red Cross is very grateful for your generous gift of $500.00 on 10-10-2024 to Hurricanes Milton and Helene”.
With your help,
AEIN APIETEYEIN (Ever Striving for the Best)
Many thanks
The New Website
If you have not visited the new aurelianhonorsociety.org website, please do and please provide feedback! In the “Members Area” please take a look at The Aurelian photo gallery – Through the Years. This can be filled with anything that members feel is relevant, fun, and want to share! There are stacks of scrapbooks in storage and maybe one day we can get them on this site, but in the meantime dig back into your archives and send us what you have! Submissions with captions please! To open the members area, all alumni should use the password “alumni-delegate”.
Aurelian Reading Room/Graduate Club
The Aurelian Reading Room renovation is proceeding through new electric, air conditioning, carpeting and paint. Furniture is on delivery and the anticipated completion date is mid-November at which point, your headquarters will be open to alumni.. When the work is done, photos will be shared and a reception scheduled around the Yale events calendar – football, reunions or the like.
And so, on to current events in the 2025 Aurelian Delegation!
Speaker Dinners are still being arranged so we should have some good photos of those soon.
Should any of the alumni delegations be interested in visiting the delegation, or taking part in the Virtual Speaker Dinner opportunities, please contact me, board member Benjamin Barasch or the Co-presidents Abigail Yadegar and Alex Shin!
Loomis Havemeyer Annual Membership Drive ’25
We’ve had a nice start to our annual membership drive. Our needs are modest, our goals are achievable, and with your help we continue to build for a long-term future.
See the list of current members below: We are incredibly grateful for the 2024 pledge! The dollar amounts of the pledges were not important -MOST IMPORTANT was their SUPPORT. This is how we go forward and maybe even become more able to support our communities’ needs like Stan Flink YANA-Dwight Hall Fellowships, Robert O’Connor Aurelian Scholarship, Nuland Bioethics Summer Stipend, Yale Fund for New Haven, the annual Aurelian Book Prize, and this month, the Red Cross Milton-Helene Hurricane Relief.
Please support your society’s activities and goals with a gift of any size. If you don’t have an Aurelian coffee mug – this is your chance ! Get one!
Contributions of any amount result in Member in Good Standing and are tax-deductible. Your choices are the Loomis Havemeyer Fund (annual operating fund), @AHS_inc Venmo (annual operating fund), the Aurelian Endowment (long-term investment), and the Aurelian Robert O’Connor Scholarship (Yale scholarship). You will find links to these opportunities on the new website by clicking the one button below!
Many thanks to the following who have already made their annual contribution!
